On the 27th of June SAPOA Western Cape, in partnership with IPD South Africa, hosted a Research Power Hour at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town- Upper Eastside sponsored by Absa Commercial Property Finance.
The event was attended by over 60 regional SAPOA members as well as members of the Absa CPF team and the head of lending for Absa Business Bank, CPF Mr Mike Mortimer, flew in from Johannesburg to attend the presentation. The theme for the morning was “Shopping centres in township and rural areas and how they are providing opportunities for retailers, property investors and their surrounding communities”
Our speakers were Mr Marc Zlotnick, Managing Director at Forsite and Mr Rob McGaffin who is a senior lecturer at UCT as well as being the Property Market theme Co-ordinator and LandMark. The presentations looked at these developments from the following perspectives’
• What is the impact on nodal and social development?
• What are the risks and returns to property owners?
• What are the opportunities for retailers in these markets?
Both speakers are very well known in the industry and we were privileged to have them share their expertise.
